Day 02: Monumental Wonders of Giza, The Sphinx, and Tahrir Museum Treasures
Dedicate your morning to exploring the world’s most iconic plateau. Stand before the towering Pyramids of Giza (Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus), explore the ancient stone blocks of the Valley Temple, and look up at the majestic silhouette of the Great Sphinx. After a lunch of authentic local cuisine, head to the heart of the capital to tour The Egyptian Museum (The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities in Tahrir). Your expert guide will lead you through a stunning collection of over 250,000 genuine artifacts, including the legendary gold, jewelry, and treasures recovered from Tutankhamun's tomb. Return to your hotel for a relaxing evening.

Depart Cairo at 6:00 AM in a comfortable vehicle for a scenic 4-hour drive to the Bahariya Oasis. Upon arrival, switch to a rugged 4x4 Jeep and venture deep into the dramatic landscapes of the Black Desert. Stop for a fresh picnic lunch in the shaded surroundings of El Haize Oasis before driving out to the spectacular Valley of Agabat, an ancient seabed defined by towering limestone cliffs.

Carved directly into a solid sandstone cliff by Ramses II, these twin temples feature four colossal 20-meter statues guarding the entrance, alongside a secondary temple built to honor Queen Nefertari.

Return to the ship for lunch and relax on the sun deck as the vessel sails downriver toward the Temple of Kom Ombo. Tour this fascinating double sanctuary, which is perfectly symmetrical and uniquely dedicated to two separate deities: Sobek the crocodile god and Horus the elder falcon god. Continue sailing downriver to Edfu for dinner and overnight accommodations on board.
