The Nile River has been Egypt’s lifeline since ancient times and there is no better way to trace the passage of Egypt’s history than to follow the course of the Nile, have an unforgettable cruising in Luxor & Aswan on board of M/S Amwaj Living Stone Nile Cruise; it started operating in December 2014 under the management of Amwaj International. It consists of 04 Decks & Sundeck.
You will enjoy the view of the Nile through the panoramic windows available in each cabin. The classy Tanya lounge situated on the main deck which features a dance floor is the perfect place to relax in the evening and watch the nightly entertainment while enjoying drinks and cocktails of the lounge bar.
While navigating the waters of the Nile, we will make several stops to explore distinctive collections of both ancient and modern monuments. This itinerary includes visits to notable sites such as the High Dam, the Temple of Philae, and the Unfinished Obelisk in Aswan. In Luxor, our schedule encompasses visits to the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir El Bahari, the Colossi of Memnon, the Karnak Temples Complex, and the Temple of Luxor.
Additionally, our esteemed guests traveling to Egypt will have the opportunity to explore the Temple of Kom Ombo, known locally as the Crocodile Temple, and the remarkably well-preserved Temple of Horus in Edfu.
For those seeking more tailored experiences, various optional tours are available upon request. Guests cruising the Nile for 03, 04, or 07 nights will have ample time to participate in one or two optional tours, in addition to the regular excursions to historical sites in Aswan, Luxor, and the areas in between.
Among the optional tours offered are the Hot Air Balloon ride in Luxor, the Sound & Light Show at Karnak or Philae Temple, a serene sailing experience by Felucca or sailing boat around the enchanting islands of Luxor and Aswan, and visits to hidden Pharaonic sites such as the Valley of the Queens, the Ramsseum, Temple of Madinet Habu, and the tombs of Deir El Madina in Luxor. In Aswan, we can seamlessly organize visits to the magnificent Temples of Abu Simbel, the Temple of Kalabsha, the Nubian Museum, and the natural beauty of the Nubian Village.
Morning time, you will be met by our local representative in Aswan, who will transfer you by private Air-conditioned vehicle to your Nile Cruise boat. We will check-in our boat within few minutes. After that, you will join our professional tour guide to visit the Aswan High Dam, constructed by the former president, Gamal Abdel Nasser in 1960 to store the water of the Nile, and then generate electricity. We will then drive to shores of the River Nile and take a motor boat to reach the Agilika Island to visit Temple of Philae, constructed in the 3rd century BC in the Greco Roman period. Our last visit of this marvelous day tour in Aswan will be to the Unfinished Obelisk, which was found in the granite quarry in the Southern part of Aswan. After the tour, we will get back to our Nile Cruise boat for overnight.
Energizing breakfast on the cruise. Our Nile Cruise boat will be landed at the location of the city of Kom Ombo, where we will visit Temple of Sobek & Haroeris, established in the Ptolemaic period, completed in the Roman era, and was dedicated to two gods, the local crocodile, Sobek and the famous eagle god, Haroeris. After that, we will get back to our boat for rest and refresh. Later on, we will visit Temple of Horus in Edfu, the finest preserved ancient Egyptian temple in the land of the Nile. We will then get back to our boat for overnight.
Free morning on your own or (optional) we can offer a Hot-air Balloon over the West Bank of Luxor. Enjoy your delicious breakfast before exploring the city of the dead where we can visit Valley of the Kings, the richest and most fascinating ancient tombs in Egypt. This was the burial site of the kings from the New Kingdom. The next visit of the day will be to the Temple of Deir El Bahari, constructed during the reign of the 18th dynasty by Queen Hatshepsut, one of the greatest rulers of Egypt. Our last visit will be to the Colossi of Memnon; these two huge statues are the only remaining items of the great funerary temple of Amenhotep III constructed in 1350 BC and became a landmark of Luxor afterwards. After that, we will get back to our boat for overnight.
Check out after breakfast. Later on, we will move to explore the east bank of Luxor including two marvelous temple complexes. Our first visit of the day will be to the Karnak Temples Complex, constructed over a period of more than one thousand years, almost all the impressive items of the Karnak we see today date back to the new kingdom specially the huge amazing columns of the hypostyle hall which are constructed by Ramses II, the greatest builder of ancient Egypt. We will then visit Luxor Temple, another startling temple that was established around the 14th century BC and the construction continued for many years afterwards by Ramses II, Queen Hatshepsut, and many other Pharaohs. After the tour, we will transfer you to your location in Luxor.
