Tour Plan
Luxor And Aswan Travel representative will pick you up from your resort in Hurghada to take you for an awesome day trip to Mahmya boarding one of two Mahmya boats, and sail for around one hour to the island.
Mahmya Beach is on the southern shores of the Giftun Island National Park off the coast of Hurghada. Mahmya in Arabic means "Protected Area". To protect the coral reef and its marine inhabitants, the boats moor at buoys off the pristine bay, and you will be taken to the shore by smaller boats.
Once you have landed on the island, you are free to snorkel on the impressive coral heads scattered in the clear lagoon, have a walk along the sandy beach, take on other guests at beach volleyball, or just relax on the pure white beach. Enjoy lunch at the restaurant, with seafood and Italian specialties, and later in the day you can enjoy drinks at the bar.
Finally you will sail back from Mahmya Island to the marina where you will be met and assisted then transferred to your hotel in Hurghada for free time at leisure and peaceful overnight stay.

We went in mid-February 2025, and it was the perfect time—weather was warm but not hot, and the island wasn’t crowded. Mahmya doesn’t feel like a mass-tourism spot at all. It’s peaceful and organized. I loved the environmental approach—no plastic bottles, and they even have signs explaining how they protect the reefs. The snorkeling area is pristine, and the fish seem unfazed by humans. It was my kind of adventure: relaxed, educational, and sunny.

The little ones played for hours on the aqua trampoline 🏖️ while we relaxed under the umbrellas. There was plenty of shade, clean changing areas, and surprisingly great coffee! Mahmya blew my mind. 🐠 I’ve snorkeled in Thailand and Mexico, but this? This was something else. The coral reefs were bright, healthy, and absolutely full of life. We saw schools of fish, a couple of rays, and the water was so clear it felt like flying. I could’ve stayed underwater forever if my mask didn’t fog up every five minutes. The staff guided us safely through the reefs and even pointed out different marine species. I came for a chill day but left feeling like a marine biologist.
